A movement for wholeness in a fragmented world

This past July as I had the opportunity to represent our church at General Assembly, everyone that was there heard this saying repeatedly, “A movement for wholeness in a fragmented world”. As many know, this is also part of the mission statement of our denomination. So then what does this mean to Park View?

As I thought about it these are just a few of the things that we as a Church must do. We are meeting people at the point of their need as they walk in the door, or as they are getting ready to leave the building. We are showing them the same love of Christ, which has been shown to us. We are praying for people as they are revealing to us the hurt within their lives. We are building positive relationships with others, outside of our comfort zone. We are developing an atmosphere that people can come into and grow spiritually. We are developing a safe place for them and us to heal from the pains of life. We are tearing down the walls of separation in our lives that might push people away. We are allowing God to reveal himself to people, how He sees fit, so they can be effectively ministered to.

As you can see, this is the entire churches responsibility, not just of a few. This is what God has called us to do within the community that we find ourselves. To be a place, a building, a church, a people, for wholeness in a fragmented world. With His help we can and must do this…

God Bless you
