Lent

“As Lent is the time for greater love, listen to Jesus’ thirst…

‘Repent and believe’ Jesus tells us.

What are we to repent? Our indifference, our hardness of heart.

What are we to believe? Jesus thirsts even now, in you heart and in the poor — He knows your weakness. He wants only your love, wants only the chance to love you.” — Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

As Christians during this season we join with countless believers around the world to celebrate the Season of Lent. Yes, it is a time for us to reflect, repent, and remember our Savior. As we do that, let us also remember the great love He poured out for us on the cross. It is not something that we one day earned, rather as St. John would write in 1 John “He first loved us”.

I challenge you this lent season to ponder that, “He first Loved me”. Not because of anything that I did ore even would do, only, do to His great love. So out of that great Love, let us be moved, moved to show compassion, moved to show grace, and moved to pour ourselves out, just as Christ has already poured Himself out for us.

God bless you during this Lent season.
